Default Automatic Transmission Identification And TroubleShooting Help Needed

Greetings and salutations, I come in peace.

I have a Mazda B2200 with an alleged Ford 302 engine and a Ford automatic transmission.

This is anew truck to me and I have no history, none. I don't even know where the powertrain came out of.

Here are some pics.

According to the previous owner, the car stopped shifting out of 1st gear after being parked for a week.

So here is what happens and wahat I have done.

When I first got the truck, it owuld take a few seconds before going into reverse or drive but it did. After a whiel I checked the oil in the trans and I saw it was low so I toppe dit up (it was leaking but I think I sorted that out).

After adding oil the truck now shifts quickly into reverse and drive but still doesn't shift out of 1st gear into 2 or 3.

I got under their and rooted around.

Here is the number I got from the trnas:

RF-EOAP-7A040-BD with a big 22.

I noticed that the trans has an electrical connector with four blades that is not used and also the speedometer looks like is not plugged in.

So my question is this, what did this transmission come out of and how do I make it shift into forward gears?

Thanks.

I have more pictures here http://picasaweb.google.com/OsiTech/...eat=directlink in case it will help in diagnosis.

Here is what the previous owner wrote in his ad in case it can also help:

"this is a 1983 mazda b2200 truck with a ford 302 motor in it. it was originaly designed as a drag racing truck. But i personally drove it around to work and everything. it also has a automatic transmission in it with a rachet shifter. the automatic tranny is having some problems now though. it sat for about a week and i went out to drive it and it wouldnt shift into second. i know that it has a shift kit body in it for racing so there could be a problem with that. i just dont have to time to work on it so i have decided to sell it. i dont have a camera handy so i cant get any pictures right now, but the body of the truck is very straight with minor dings. The motor is controlled by a MSD ignition box (6AL) it has roller rockers, headers, chrome valve covers, holley dominator intake, eldebrock carb, B&M shifter, serpentine belt drive kit, electric fan and dual hooker exhaust. thats all i can think of at the moment but if your interested just email me. thank you."

So you mean that truck is chevy and the engine is ford right? And your problem is regarding the transmission? I think you should call the attention of a local car repair shop for that one. I'm sorry i have little knowledge on transmissions. You can study ford parts for you to have an idea on how they deal with that "transmission thing."
