Default brake pedal freezin up

hi i got a 2003 ford escape ltd. and in these cold days once in a while when driving the brake freezes up. you press on the pedal and the pedal is hard as a rock so keep on pressing on it and it finally breaks free. i have taken it to one ford dealer and they say its to intermitent and can't seem to find the problem. has any body else had there brake pedal frozen up like this before? i am now taking it to another ford dealer and they said they will do a brake flush. and see what happens. so if this does not work do i wait till i get into an accident? any body with any suggestions???????

it might be a problem with you hydralic control unit you isolate hold solenoind may be binding i would suggest the flush, will proably fix it ! If it where your vacuum check at the booster you would still have brakes it just would get harder as you pushed it .
