Default Can’t fill my tank?

I replaced the fuel pump in my ’91 F150 front/mid tank. Now, I can’t fill the tank with fuel, because the gas stations nozzle keeps clicking off, as if the tank is full. The only thing I did different this time around was, yes… you guessed it, I CUT about 3” off the rubber vent hose on the filler tube to make it easier to get back in. Because, I could not get the hose back in all the way. I guess the hose kept hitting the edge where it goes in the tank. Could this be my problem???? Or maybe a pinch in the small vent hose on the top of the tank??? I am fairly sure the small hose was not pinched during installation. HELP, Jon.H.

Jon, "fairly sure" isn't absolutely sure, and close only counts with hand grenades and horseshoes. Good idea to make sure.
