Default Cranking Amps '00 Expedition

Help - my wife has drained her battery 3 times in the last 30 days. I'm tired of leaving work to go jump her car. I'm looking at buying a baterry jumper for her to put in the car. Home Depot has 2 models one with 400 amps and another with 450 amps. Will either of these be able to crank an Expedition with a 4.6L triton?

Try this in stead, or also. Buy a cheap test light at any auto parts store. Disconnect either terminal (+ or -) of the battery cables and place the test light in between the disconnected cable and disconnected battery post (make sure everything is turned off). If the light is on there is a drain on the battery. If so, you can start removeing fuse at a time to narrow the problem down. Then troble shoot from there.. good luck

My guess is the interior light is staying on intermittently (like if door not closing all the way)

Thanks for the response - she keeps leaving her lights on, so I know where the probelm is. Unfortunaltely I can't change the shorted fuse in her brain that keeps her from remembering to turn off the head lamps!!

Do you think one of these battery chargers with the jump capability will work on this rig? I hate jumping this big Ford with my little E320. I know eventually I'll jack the brain in the Benz in be in for some hefty repairs.

Is 400 amps enough? Should I go with the 450 amp model, will that be enough? What do you think?
