Default Description of error codes

I recently purchased a code reader and the reader does have book telling you what the code stands for. The problem is does anyone know of a website or manual that will help me troubleshoot the codes. For instance, one code says "gear 5 incorrect ratio", we have a 2000 windstar with a 4spd auto, I'm not sure what that code means. THanks for any help.

Never heard of a 42D code. But the other two should have P0 in front of them ifit isOBDII equipped.

Yeah the other codes do, you don't know what they mean do you? I'm not sure where to start looking as far as troubleshooting them.

Are you having problems with the vehicle, or just playing with the code reader? From what I am hearing and reading code readers by themselves are not very reliable. Plenty of false codes found with these devices.
