Default Electrical Fades while Running

Hello everone!

Im in need of some opinions. I have 98 Expedition 4.6 4x4 with 145k miles on it. While it was running the battery light came on and about 10 mins. later my headlights and every electrical components started to fade then shut off while the engine was running fine. Eventually everything shut off.

2 hour later started up perfecly, but then the all the electrcal faded again like before.

Not sure if this is related, but 2 weeks ago I was installing a cd player and the constant and ground touched and heard a small pop like a fuse went out- strange thing is, checked all the fuses and they were good!?! unless there is another fuse box I dont know about other then the one next to the driver side left knee and the one underneath the driverside hood.

I will get some codes in a bit

Any advise as to what the problem could be would be apreciated, im really low on cash and need to fix myself to get to work.

thanks

do you have a mulitmeter if you do , start the car and check batt voltage(@ the batt post) it should be between 14-16 , did you check you fuseable link that may of been the pop you heard but two weeks on just the batt seems like a long time buy hey any things possiable.the fused link should be right next to your batt in a red case .
