I own a 07 S-max with a 1.8TDCI
Suddenly a loud whining noise are coming from the engine.

Anyone have an idea???

I have heard that type noise before, but don't remember where it originated. You might check for a loose hose clamp or a leak from the turbo to the intake piping. Did I notice a drop in rpm at the same time we hear the whistle?
