Default Focus Wheel Speed Sensor

ok so this is kind of related to the other post...
We got the car jacked up today and took the wheel off. My boyfriend did some looking around and this is what we've come up with...

click

It looks like whoever did the undercoating on the car... it has started eating through the tubing, and is probably causing problems. It's obvious that this wiring needs to be redone. Our question now, is we are trying to figure out... is THIS the speed sensor, or is that just the speed sensor input circuit thing that I have heard about? Is there a separate wheel speed sensor on each wheel, or only on front. And where is it loacted? Is the boxy thing connected to the wire there, the speed sensor?

I am so confused!

Also stupid question... when one says "left rear wheel" is this if I am facing the car from the front, or sitting inside the car?

Not sure aboutthe wiring problem, but when you talk left and right of cars it is when you are sitting in the driver seat.
