i have a ford ef 96 6cyl 4spd automatic, and it goes into limp mode when it heats up? i got a code of 919, shift solenoid 1 not working! but the gearbox runs fine until it gets up to normal tempreture... i have connected a separate cooler to it and serviced the gearbox it has improved but the fault is still there. please help! why does it work fine for the first 25 km is it the wrong error? i took it to the mechanic they confirmed after $230 labor. but i did not get them to change the solenoid as that would cost around $400 and i am not confident that it will fix it? i don't want to change part after part until it is fixed as a whole new gearbox might be better if there is a chance of that.
