Ford oil filter for new vehicle engines
Does any one know why Ford changed the oil filter on the latest Ford vehicles from a spin on filter that cost $5 or 6 to a cartridge filter like the ones used in the 1950’s that costs $9 or $10 each? The newer cartridge filters are larger than a spin on filter and must hold maybe a quart or more of oil.
These are used on the new 2020 Ford Explorer v6 engine and I believe the F150.
