Just wanted to tell my story and get some feedback from people who had the same problem or could shed some light.....my gas gauge in my 2002 Windstar started acting up until it read empty most of the time.......after going through the Windstar forum here I assumed it was the sending unit.......because of the age I decided to replace both pump and sending unit as I got a good deal on an "aftermarket" unit.....after I replaced it the gauge was exactly the same......so I took it to my local Ford dealer.....they charged me two hours labour to tell me that it was the sending unit.....after I told them I already replaced it with an aftermarket they said they had two instances where an aftermarket would not work the gas gauge......so they said I should order a sending unit and put it on my old pump which I did.....guess what?......SAME PROBLEM!......now that brings the total sending units in that tank to 3! and none work the gauge!......how much money do I need to spend to get this figured out?
