Help with vacuum/idle issues
Hey all,
I have a 84 Lincoln Town Car. I am having some issues with my idle being too high in park. I know I have vacuum issues. I discovered some vacuum lines melted together and replaced them as best I could. I DO NOT have a vacuum diagram and could use one REALLY badly. If someone has one, that would be great. Besides replacing those lines, I have a few open ports. The small vacuum valve on the underside, driver side, of my air cleaner body has 2 ports and one goes to the flapper that closes the air intake, the other side of that vacuum valve is open to the air. I have an open vacuum port that sticks down from the bottom of my throttle body. The, I have a black vacuum line with a yellow strip on it. It comes from some of the vacuum solinoids on top of the left valve cover, but it is not attached to anything. Any idea where that goes?
Ok, and last, I have a "T" in the smaller line that come off my IAC. Well, I believe it is my IAC. It comes out of the back of the manifold and it has 3 lines. One is about 1/2 and that is coming out the back, then it has two smaller ones. One about 1/4 that is black with a red stripe, I think it goes to the smog pump, not sure. And another that is maybe 3/16ths and it goes to the same solinoids above the left valve cover and a few other spots.
I know that is A LOT of info, but if anyone could help, that would be great. A good image of a vacuum diagram would be awesome.
Thanks,
-Josh

Ah, early EEC IV CFI. I cut my driveability teeth on them. I actually have the Vacuum Schematics from the calibration charts. The problem is trying to find it. Most of the vacuum switching valves on the left valve cover control the EGR valve (both the EGR control and vent solenoids), and the idle kicker. These cars had a huge vacuum tap at the center rear (slightly to the left) that went primairly to the brake booster then branched out from there. I will try to find that book for you.
