How 2 Program Ford Ignition Key
Hi, i need 2 get a new key 4 my sons '01 focus .I read an article about being able 2 program them yourself ? ,will this work 4 fords ? thanks 4 any info ,,,,,
Introduction Just bought a new Pacifica and want to add another Sentry Key but don't want to pay the dealerships $100 to program it? I will show you how easily you can do this yourself.
This process works for a 2007 Pacifica but might work with other new Chrysler products as well. Instructions Difficulty: Moderately Easy Things You'll Need[*]Two Sentry keys that work[*]2007 Pacifica[/ul] Steps 1 Step One Obtain the blank Sentry Key(s) that need to be programmed. Cut the keys to match the ignition lock cylinder mechanical key codes. 2 Step Two Insert one of the two valid Sentry Keys into the ignition switch and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. 3 Step Three After the ignition switch has been in the ON position for longer than three seconds, but no more than fifteen seconds, cycle the ignition switch back to the OFF position. Replace the first valid Sentry Key in the ignition lock cylinder with the second valid Sentry Key and turn the ignition switch back to the ON position. The second valid Sentry Key must be inserted within 15 seconds of removing the first valid Sentry key. 4 Step Four About ten seconds after the completion of Step #3, the indicator light will start to flash and a single audible chime tone will sound to indicate that the system has entered the "Customer Learn" programming mode. 5 Step Five Within sixty seconds of entering the "Customer Learn" programming mode, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, replace the valid Sentry Key with a blank Sentry Key transponder, and turn the ignition switch back to the ON position. 6 Step Six About ten seconds after the completion of Step #5, a single audible chime tone will sound and the indicator light will stop flashing and stay on solid for three seconds and then turn off to indicate that the blank Sentry Key has been successfully programmed. The SKIS will immediately exit the "Customer Learn" programming mode and the vehicle may be started using the newly programmed Sentry Key.

RE: How 2 Program Ford Ignition Key
Why would you think a procedure from another manufacturer would work? Unless you have two keys already programmed, you will have to have a dealer or locksmith with the proper equipment to program the new key.

RE: How 2 Program Ford Ignition Key
The procedure is exactly the same as chrysler , if you have two programed keys you can program up to 8 keys just the same way . if you only have one programed key you have to taked it to a dealer so the can access the p.a.t.s. and erase the existing key then program the two keys buy cycling the keys the same way .

RE: How 2 Program Ford Ignition Key
If you already have two keys that are programmed, then you can program the rest yourself, up to eight keys. If you only have one key programmed, then the dealer is the only one that can do it, or a locksmith with the right equipment. Whick is it?

RE: How 2 Program Ford Ignition Key
every key for a ford ignition has to be programed with a wds or an ids you can have upto 8 keys programed but everyone of them needs to be programed at a dealer no way around it unless you have a way to break into the pats system
