Ignition Keys
I am having a problem with my 2006 Taurus and I am wondering if anyone can help me. I purchased some additional ignition keys, which have the chip and require programming. I programmed the keys without any issues and all of the keys worked fine for a year of so. Then suddenly the new keys stopped working, they would not disengage the starter interrupt system so the car would not start up. The key turns in the ignition but would not start the car.
I reprogrammed all of the keys and everything worked fine for a couple of months then suddenly the new keys stopped disengaging the starter interrupt again. This time my wife was left stuck so I am trying to figure out what the problem is before I simply reprogramming the keys again and hope that they do not become a problem again. Whatever the problem is, it is only with the new keys as I have not had any problems with the original ones. Also, I have not had any problems with dead battery or anything else that might have caused computer to reset itself.
Has anyone run into this problem before or have any idea what the problem might be?
