Key fob deactivation
Sorry if this is a repost. Im not sure where to look and really do need help.
My ex and I bought a Flex together and then a month into having it, broke up. Recently, he's been threatening to take it. I am soley financially responsible for the vehicle amd have been for close to 2 years but he will not return the second fob. I don't make a lot of money and everything the internet says is that it's super expensive or I need the key fob on my person to deactivate it. How can I deactivate it on my own? Or is there another route I can take all together to prevent my ex from taking my car?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

You don't say what year vehicle and they can be different.
Your best bet is to have a dealership reprogram all the security info on the vehicle and , of course you can expect a charge or this, but that will be the price of holding on to your vehicle.

Welcome Meg.
What year is the Flex? Is the flex keyless start?
If you only have one fob now, I'd possibly try other avenues to get the other back. Should you loose yours, it's expensive to get the original replaced (2 copy's needed now) and programmed. If you have two in hand, you can program others without professional help.
Option 2, is to have it reprogrammed and have one new fob added in. But it's not cheap.
Disabling the car (temp) wouldn't be difficult.
