why do my tailights come on when i open my front doors on my 62 falcon 4dr.

 

My first suspicion would possibly involve the headlight switch and it is possible the courtesy lights, dome light and interior light switch might have become friendly and are helping one another , not exactly as we would like,,,,,,,,,,,,,and I could be wrong, but that is where I would start checking unless someone has been working with those systems and created some alternate paths.

 

i did have someone work on my dome light and that is when i had this issue, thanks for the help. i will put in a new light switch.

 

Before replacing a possibly good switch it is best to check what was done and maybe just rerouting a wire might correct the problem.
Please,,,,,,,,,,,, ,make sure the wiring has not been incorrectly altered and resulting in the present problem. It can be very disappointing to jump the gun and go replacing a perfectly good switch and still have the problem.
