new to ford & need help planning e30 drift drive train
ok so i got a tired e30 bmw 325 and it is going to be my daily driver and drift project. I have never been much of a ford guy but thats really only because my last few builds have been lsx or bmw I6t based engines. that said i want to go ford this time cuz the mass availability of the older 4.6 and 5.0 and how dirt cheap they are. I can pick up long blocks pan to intake for under $300 locally. and the stresses of track drifting and daily driving things happen so i can readily get parts, blocks, ect much much cheaper than any lsx or german engines.
my plan to start drop the 4.6 or 5.0 in the e30 pretty much stock with a single t70 setup and i think i wanna do water-2-air ic this time with chipped stock ecu or whatever is easiest for tuning and later on get an aftermarket intake and do some port work to the stock heads.
im not trying to go over 450 whp and really proly dont need that much.
reliability/cost>power in this case
so would you recommend the 4.6 or the 5.0 for somthing like this?
is either ecu better or worse to tune cuz i dnt wana go stand alone?
what trans options do i have for the better block?
whats the cost of the trans? thats one of the biggest draw back of the lsx
whats the aftermarket situation h/c/i just normal stuff?
any problems with these motors in terms of the swap or any other things?
