Default Oil usage

Hi
I bought Ford focus 1.5 diesel. Checked oil usage, there were 41 % left, I did 8k miles. Done service and now I did 3300 miles and used already 44 %oil, bit strange because I do every day the same trip to work and back, 80 miles every day
Up to my first service my oil usage were average 200 mile per 1%, now is 73 miles per 1%, just wonder what could be a reason of this drastic drop?

What is the actual mileage on this vehicle?

Do we have any kind of idea of what kind of service this vehicle had?

If the engine has seen a lot of use plus neglected maintenance, this would definitely contribute to unusual oil consumption. What about not easily visible leaks?

There are 11k on the clock, i bought almost one year car with 500 mile on clock and 41 oil used, i done the second service as schedule, when oil was around 5%(that was at 8 k), not the yearly one, I believe the Ford know how to service their cars.

Hi Mike,
Something to consider,
New engines are supposed to operate without too much oil consumption. Synthetic oil is great to use
.If the rings don't have enough time to "seat" the engine will use oil !
I have found that if synthetic oil is used from the very beginning , the rings don't seat as quick as if regular oil is used for the first few hundred miles..
Mass produced engines can vary with clearances and it is not unusual for some to require more time than others to get to where they don't consume some oil.
Patience usually pays off in some instances like this.
