I replaced the power antenna with a used one that worked after installation. The radio would not play sound, but the antenna would go up and down. I pushed the base/treble button and the sound from the radio began. Then, the antenna would not work (up or down). But the radio is working OK w/o the antenna being up.

I need some help with this issue.

 

Most of the time there is a poor connection between the radio and the antenna.
Good idea to recheck all the connections , you might find a loose one . If the signal from the antenna is lost because of an open or grounded input signal the radio will not produce any sound. Also if the ground for the antenna is poor or lost , antenna won't work either.
