Relay Part Numbers

Relay Part Numbers
Need to replace relay(s) on 2008 Ford Focus SES. Old relay part number is 8L8T-14B192-AA. Also shows P6STD. When I search for this part I'm also getting hits for 8T2T-14B192-AA and they show O101K rather than P6STD.. Based on results, I'm assuming these are interchangeable. Maybe one is a newer version. Can anybody confirm that these are interchangeable? Thanks.

Checked with Ford dealer. Those are 'engineering numbers' and cross reference to a Ford part number. Both of those were for the same part. Not sure how those engineering numbers are assigned. May be multiple versions that cross-ref to the same relay.

First ,,,all relays are not the same.
Second,,, some will have an internal diode to clip voltage spikes.
Some will have a resistor to accomplish the same thing
Some come with a provision for mounting.
The idea is to know what you want to control with it and where you might want to use it.
Hopefully,,,,,,if you tell us where you want to use it and for what purpose, we might be able to help remove some of the mystery.
Playing with part #s without knowing the above can be a crap shoot.
If you suspect a relay is defective, you can switch with another relay with the same part #. Other than that , you are taking a chance of introducing problems.
