stopped runing
I have a 1989 Ford Aerostar that my son left here when he went in the aif force. So I put it back togethere and was runing and I was about to set the timing and it stopped runing.I can hear the pump run when I turn key on but I don't think the fuel rail has pressure on it. I can spray starter in the fuel body and it starts any help will be fine?
You can check the pressure by putting a pressure gauge on the schrader valve located on the fuel rail. If it starts will starting fluid, but not with without the starter fluid help, I would look for a "GREEN" or loose ground. Double check the small ground lead coming off the battery's negative post. Ford used to use a fuse connection for this lead in the 80's and they had a tendacy to fall apart. The locking ears would let loose causing a loss of connectivity while the connector looked like it was OK. This will keep the injectors from firing fuel into the cylinders.
