Default swaping motors

I have a buddy thats wants to swap out his 5.0 from a 1979-1980 mercury marquie this motor has a V.V. carb. He wants to install 5.0 fuel injested motor from a 1988 ford pickup. Need to know what all will need to be done to complete this job. will we need to change the wiring harness, fuel pump, computer, etc. any help at all would be great

I've only ever seen V.V. carbs on big 460 motors and such. Need the complete computer wiring harness for the injection system. Might as well splice in the complete truck wiring harness and computer system. Fuel pump:will need the injection fuel pump AND fuel tank (pump goes in the tank).

Is your buddy looking to just install an engine from a fuel injected vehicle and keep the engine carburated? Or, is he also looking to run fuel injection? If remaining carburated, then it's a one for one swap. If wanting to run fuel injected, I would go with something newer and go with a MAF system (1990 and up) verses the 1988 MAP system (1985-1989).
