Hey y'all. We just bought a 08 Ford escape! This is my first Ford. My last vehicle was a 06 Chevy trailblazer. But I'm not gonna talk about that one.
So far my escape is perfectly maintained and no problems thankfully. Getting ready to put her on full synthetic oil.
Are there any problems i need to watch out for our issues for her age I need to keep eye on? Don't know how Ford does everything. Thanks in advance.

 

What engine and trans do you have?
Is it all wheel drive.

Engine is XLS 2.3L 4 dr front wheel drive. 4 speed auto

 

Thats a pretty good motor, there is some egr issues that may crop up on you, but thats most of it.

 

You may run into egr issues, as mentioned above, or ignition switch issues, that's a common problem. I already switched mine twice on my 08 escape in the 5-6 yes I've owned it. But overall it's been a good suv, already have over 200k miles. Looking into rebuilding the engine. Also, there was a recall a few years back, concerning the electric power steering, if memory serves me right. Just check your local Ford dealer with your vin #. After all,, they'll have to fix it free of charge if it hasn't been fixed or if your vehicle was even affected in the recall.
