Question 1988 Ford F250 Custom

Starter Solenoid, does it matter much if I buy the one with a lifetime guarantee. Local Parts store has one for $25 W/1yr warranty or another for $30 W/Lifetime Guarantee. I'd go for the lifetime, but does that really hold up?

Welcome to the site.

Solenoid isn't a high failure rate part, but for 5.00 extra may give you peace of mind. What parts store, or part brand?

I called O’riley and they gave me those two price options but I didn’t ask the brands. I have one ordered on Amazon made by Standard Motor Parts and it’s coming on Thursday, I’m just getting ants in my pants to just get it done now, Thursday is just too far away, lol

I never had one go bad or ever seen one go bad. Myself being a tight wad, would go for the lowest price on this highly reliable part.

There is a difference between Standard Motor Parts and Standard Motor Products.

Have used Standard Motor Products for years and parts were usually of good quality and delivered good service.
There are a lot of imitation parts out there and you do need to be careful what you purchase. Sometimes the overseas parts manufacturer will copy the box color and similar design to confuse a buyer and we always look for a domestic manufacturer . It is only a relay, but we like to get good quality and do the job once.
Don't be afraid to inquire where the part is made.
Why we do this, is, the internal contact pieces are usually of poor quality and because of the high load they go to pot sooner.

I found it interesting that the folks that made the parts over there always wanted American made parts.
