Default 1989 f250

Hello glad to be here I have an 1989 Ford f250 automatic two-wheel drive with the 4.9 l 6 cylinder, my problem is my shift cable it's about to break and all the car part dealers say that it's been discontinued so I may be forced to put a floor shifter in is anyone else had this problem.
