Default 1994 Ford Explorer 2WD Engine Stuck in Cold Weather

Early and cold in the morning, I start the engine, put into drive and the truck won't go. I step hard on the gas pedal to get it to move, drive to the intersection a few hundred yards away, apply the break then the engine stuck again. I had to step hard on the gas pedal again to get it to move.

I had new front breaks put in recently. When it's stuck it feel like the break pads/disks are not releasing.

It does this only in the cold weather. Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

If the problem started when the brakes were replaced, there's your answer.

Did they replace both of the old calipers? or just turn/machine the rotors and replace the brake pads? What level of 'put in' was done?

Sometimes when the old caliper pistons are pushed back to accept the replacement pads, they at times can drag the brakes. More so if the caliper piston boots were torn and not replaced/rebuilt durring a brake job

Does it pull to either side when braking?, any smell of burning brakes? You could always jack/lift the front end, apply the brakes hard (cold) and see if the tires rotated without any severe drag..
