my fiesta drives for a bit then the revs go down to tickover and it wants to stop, cant get the revs back up while in gear, i did have to hotwire it last week as i lost my key but i dont think this would cause the problem? anyone got any ideas

 

just a shot in the dark from someone that is really tired and cant think straight, but that describes the symptoms that happend just before my fuel filter went. it was more dramatic than this sounds (whent from fine to not running in five miles), that describes the early part of that drive.
