We have the Actron 9135 scanner and are trying to hook it up to a 2004 Ford Excursion Diesel 6.0L. We are getting the "Link Error" message. Is this unit compatible with this vehicle?

We have changed the fuel filters and the fuel pump runs, and the engine starts but will not stay running. What should we look at to repair.

What does the instruction book that comes with the scanner say regarding this reply?

 

OK, I found out that this scanner is not compatible with this model of vehicle. When I plug my truck in overnight it will start, but if I do not plug it in the engine cranks and wants to start but does not keep going. Any suggestions? FICM?

 

Did you check out the glow plug system and relay?

 

I just took it to a place to chack the codes and I think it is the FICM. Thanks. Laura
