Default 2005 Ford expedition ecu/pcm

Hey Folks,
Looking for instructions on how to do a "resistance test" or any testing on the plugs at the ecu that needs to be done before installing a refurbished/reprogrammed ecu (also received 2 new transponder keys with the order). I just don't want to fry the new one. I really suspect the old one starting having problems when someone rigged the battery cables; They were loose and corroded, but I don't know that. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Pin outs
schematics
instructions
tutorials
thanks in advance

Hi James,
You cannot just switch PCMs like any other parts !!!
They are programmed to your particular vehicle and if you attempt to switch with another PCM,,,,,,,,, now the anti theft system will not allow the vehicle to start and the keys will not work. Then,,,,,, when you switch back to your original PCM that will not work anymore either !!!
Anytime a PCM is changed a scan tool is required to do what is called a "Parameter reset" , You can clean the plug contacts if necessary, but be very careful some are gold plated to prevent corrosion and the pin contact areas are a critical part of the circuits. Many times just cleaning the battery cable terminals will help a lot. Even then after the cables are reconnected the computer requires some time to relearn what might get erased by just disconnecting the battery cables.
If this warning is too late , the options you have are to have a local locksmith with the programming info and tool capability to reprogram your vehicle and original PCM or replacement ,,, OR, have a dealer or capable shop come and straighten out the whole thing. Hope we got to you before you open a can of worms.
