2009 Ford Escape Vin7 Error Code P0302
Engine light came on. Error Code P0302. Compression checks ok. Leak down test says #2 cylinder problem. Was told by dealer that it was a burned valve on #2. The dealership didn't want to fix it.
Had head checked and milled .006. all 16 new valves plus new exhaust manifold (was warped).
New Iridium plugs. All coils checked and working fine. Can hear fuel injectors open and close per normal.
Drove car 15 miles after all the work done and check engine light came .on and soon started to flash. Checked error code. The same P0392 code is back! PCM replaced but still showed error code on new PCM. Old PCM put back.
Any thoughts on this? What next?

With new valves, plugs etc; even though the coil tested fine might be an intermittent problem. I'd try moving that coil on plug to another cylinder to see if it follows. Hopefully your cat is still fine after the flashing MIL.
Thanks Mike. I moved the Cop yesterday switching 2 and 4. Ran rough for a while then settled down. After it settled I still have the error code P0302. Engine light on but not flashing. Situation still not right. Thanks for you input. Any more suggestions are appreciated.
You might consider having someone with a good scan tool get you the fuel trim numbers. With that info you might be able to confirm if the cyl is running rich or lean. Either condition will cause the lite to come on. If you choose to not try that you might consider swapping injectors and see if the condition moves.
If you get no change after clearing the codes there could be a wiring or connection problem from the PCM to the injector or problem with the voltage to that cyls injector.
When the head was removed , if there was a burned valve ,what caused that should be determined . Did this engine overheat by any chance?
