2012 F250 4wd 6.2 Liter engine failsafe, no throttle operation
Hello,
At times when accelerating lightly around town the trucks dash will show the yellow wrench and the throttle control is inoperative. Mostly happens when the ambient is in the 50’s and it has rained or it is raining.
The connectors are all dry on the PCM, throttle motor and throttle position sensor.
I have the following faults:
P0122 Throttle Position Sensor/Accelerator Position Pedal Circuit Low Input
P0222 Throttle Pedal Position Sensor/Switch B Circuit Low
P2135 Accelerator pedal position (APP) / Throttle position (TP) sensor/switch A/B – voltage correlation
I had the following replaced, throttle motor (under the hood) and the pedal position sensor. The problem continued to occur.
Went to a ford dealer they identified the throttle motor as an aftermarket unit and that it needed a genuine ford part, they installed a ford part and it continued to happen.
Harness problem? Anyone heard of this before we dive into replacing the pins/connectors or looking for a harness problem? Chafed wire or corrosion? Places to look? I dont see any chatter on the internet.
Could it be a charging problem and is this a reaction to that low voaltage issue? battery terminal arching?
Thanks in adavance

Did you by chance ever figure out what the problem was. I have a 2011 F250 with the 6.2 and typically the throttle is dead after startup. If I press and release the brake, I get about 1,800 RPM's with no load. I changed the PCM, throttle body, and pedal. With live data we are seeing the throttle response. Codes are P0123, P0223, and P2127
Can you post the live data you received so we can look it over ?
You did program the replacement PCM ,I hope ?
If you did not, this creates another problem if you try to reinstall the original PCM.
All this aside, I suspect there is a bad ground and/or poor connection where low voltage is the result.

Thank you for your response and I am very sorry for the very late response. I was working on gathering the live data but I am so far from "tech savvy" it is ridiculous. Here is the update. The codes all pointed to the throttle body. After trying 3 different new one, 2 from eBay, and the last from NAPA, the PCM was replaced and reprogramed. I checked the 6 wires between the throttle body and PCM. The blue/orange wire was dead. I installed a new jumper and saw real improvement, but still not perfect. I would have throttle response for several seconds after trying it, and then my smooth running truck would run rough and again, no throttle response. A friend and much better mechanic came over and basically rewired all 6 wires between the throttle body and the PCM. Again we had great improvement, but if we went above about 1/3 throttle, the pedal would go dead and the truck went from purring to a rough missing engine. We then went back to the original throttle body and the truck now runs perfectly. This was a wire harness issue and I added to the problems with the aftermarket throttle body. If you followed the wires coming out of the throttle body, they go towards the firewall and then bend to the left towards the PCM. Right before this bend, the blue wire with the orange tracer looked like it was cut. There were no signs of damage to the wire loom or tape surrounding it. I probably could have grabbed this wire from the throttle body plug end and pulled it out of the harness. A note to anybody reading this, there are 2 identical wires that look like this in the same harness. If you are putting in a jumper, be sure you are grabbing the correct one at the PCM. Once again, I want to thank you hanky for the quick response, and apologize for the delay in my response.
did you ever figure out issue i am have same problem. if you hook up forscan for live data you can watch tp1 go up until about 3.5 volts then it drops a volt and goes to limp. New motorcraft Throttle body, overlayed all wires between TPS and pcm and APP and BCM pedal tests good. so not the trottle body, pedal, or wires that just leaves the computer. Frustrating
