Bought this truck last August and was told by sales person that SYNC-3 had turn by turn directions like my 2013 F-150. It doesn't. Accessed by Ford Owner account and SYNC site said Turn by Turn was "Available" in my model. Called SYNC support, gave them my VIN # and was told I don't have Turn by Turn. I told the Salesperson at my dealership who was surprised, talked to dealership management, called Ford, and learned, as I did, that some models have Turn by Turn and some don't. Dealership was surprised. They called Ford as was told that Android Auto app will display phone navigation on my Ford screen WHEN FORD COMPLETES THE TRUCK APP TO ACCEPT THE ANDROID AUTO DISPLAY. Ford told the dealership it would be a couple of months. That should have been November 2016. Well its March 2017 and still no update from FORD. My phone plays navigation audio on my F-150 through Bluetooth but I want the display Ford promised.
Ford owes me and others like me this software update now because:
1. Ford marketed the 2016 model I have as having turn by turn.
2. The SYNC site says it "available" for my model.
3. My Dealership was not aware that Turn by Turn was not available in my truck.
4. Ford said the APP Update would be available 5 months ago
5. There was no way to verify, at time of purchase, that my truck did not have Turn by Turn without pairing my phone before purchase, registering the truck VIN in my Ford Owner site and trying the Turn by Turn feature. Or call SYNC support to determine if my intended purchase had Turn by Turn.
6. I'm paying the same price today for SYNC and getting less with the absence of Turn by Turn. If fact I'm paying more as my phone data rates apply to get navigation.


So in the end, I have to ask what is a loyal Ford customer worth?
