Default 2017 F450 Trailer Camera

I purchased an F450 a year ago to pull a 5th wheel trailer. I ordered it with the under-bed 5th wheel hitch mount, the camera package and the Ultimate Tow Package (trailer backup camera and TPMS). When the truck came in, I was handed a box with the trailer camera and the TPMS components in it. I don't have an issue with having to install it myself, the issue I have is when I tried to install it, there is no way to connect it inside the bed - where ALL 5th wheel trailer wiring connects and, to my knowledge, always has. If it's connected the way Ford says- (into the 12-pin connector on the bumper - the cable will hang over the tailgate and scratch the heck out of the tailgate and also the quarter panels on turns. Although I don't think the cabling is sufficient to allow full turns. It would be a great setup for a travel trailer type hitch, but I cannot see any way to make it work with a 5th wheel without damage. Has anyone else had this issue and, if so, what did you do? I've been going back and forth with the dealership about refunding my money for it. They say Ford says it's not under recall and there's nothing wrong with it so they don't feel they should have to refund the money. My stance is that I relied upon the dealerships knowledge of their product as they knew exactly what I was going to be towing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
