280,000 miles !!
hey everyone... i got this truck, 93 f-150 xlt w/ a 4.9 straight 6 cyl. it has over 280 thousand miles on it but the engine runs better than most of the much newer ones i test drove... the only problem is although a new clutch and throw out bearing has made the five gears shift flawlessly the reverse just grinds!? it feels like it goes in great but when the clutch is released (let out) it just spins... any ideas? i heard theres a seperate adjustment for reverse and found a weird looking nut/bolt combo thingy on the back of the trany near the backup light switch but have no clue what , if anything, to do with it?? any help or re's are greatly appreciated!!
