Default 5.4 to a 5.0 engine swap

New to the forums.. my 2008 f250 fx4 with 5.4l has 251,000 on it.. starting to have a lot of problems.. lack of power dead miss erc etc... got a chance to buy a 2014 f150 fx4 with 5.ol complete truck with good motor, transmission and transfer case... so my question is, how hard and complicated is a complete motor and transmission swap into my f250.. is it worth the hassle to put the coyote engine in it or should i just find another 5.4l.. i here so many good things on the 5.ol and so many bad on the 5.4..

Unfortunately, we have a case of apples and oranges. The days of just switching engines and trans before computers became involved was not a big deal, however, each vehicle now has it's own personality and trying to mix those personalities can get pretty involved. Each year the manufacturer incorporates changes and what will work one year will not always work in succeeding years thanks to electronics. I don't believe it is a recommended step, but you might do some more checking , a second and even a third and fourth opinion could help with making that decision.

Aside from the miles on the 5.4 , and of course the vehicle condition , the problems mentioned on the 5.4 don't seem too difficult to correct
