Question Abs light

Hi, I have a 2000 f150 4x4. If I step on the brake and start the engine the ABS light stays off. As soon as I take my foot off the brake the light goes on and stays on. Any idea what the problem is? Thank you

Sounds like it might be an ECM issue.

There are a few reasons for the light to come on.
There are some sensors that could be sending the wrong info to the ABS system. The better way to get to the cause is to check for any codes. There is usually an ABS pump, Hydraulic control unit and various solenoids and valves, any one of which could have a problem. In any case it's always a good idea to check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder.
