Did you try places like NAPA
Where did you try to obtain one?

Good luck finding a new one. They rarely go bad and those low demand parts are very difficult to find new. You might have to rely on a junkyard. What makes you think yours is bad?

If there was a hydraulic brake system leak the switch would move to an end position and cause the brake light on the dash to illuminate.

If there is a problem with the light staying on , let us know.

Whether you start a new thread or hijack someone's irrelevant thread, you should mention your vehicle detail and you have 99 F-250 SD 7.3L from your other post recently.

Red brake light doesn't turn on can be either 1) bad parking light switch or 2) burnt out bulb, to check which:
a) doesn't matter if you have the parking brake engaged, turn key to ON position you should see the red light illuminating and it should prove out (turn off) in a few seconds OR when you start the van. If you never seen the red brake light illuminating in any situation you will need to remove the instrument cluster to replace that.
b) say your red brake light proves out correctly like shown above, step on the parking brake, turn key to START position and start up the van, the light should stay on, now step again to release the parking brake, the light should go away. If it proves out correctly but while engine is running the light doesn't illuminate when you step on it, then you have a bad parking brake switch.

Of course you can have both bad bulb and switch, do the bulb check (step a above) first. If you have just a bad switch it takes 20 seconds to replace, just one screw, but it takes time to locate it. Look at the surrounding area you look for some small plastic parking brake switch holder it's in white color. Once you remove it just do a simple continuity test with your multimeter, it's a normally-closed switch, that is, continuity should exist when you do nothing, when you depress it by hand, no continuity. It looks something like this below:
