Hello, I really joined to see if any one out there has bad gas mileage on their van as i do. THe van is a 99 Windstar LX I would like to have someone give me info to take to the Ford dealership on what might be wrong with my van. i have been testing my van since nov. i was getting 10 to 12.50 mpg. it did this consistently. I have only gotten 275 miles on the tank and put in about 22 gallons of gas. at the most 12.50 mpg. I took it to the Ford dealer and i spent just shy of 400.00. They told me i for sure should get better gas mileage. they changed all my spark plugs, new air filter, changed the wires to the spark plugs, and cleaned mass air flow sensor, and checked my tires for proper inflation. I still drove away and still got the same rotten gas mileage. I realize it is winter here, and it is mostly in town driving, except i did make a point to go at least 50 to 75 miles on that tank of gas on highway. SO can anyone help me to understand what i need to do to get better gas mileage. trade it in? at that rate i might as well be driving a Denali! thanks again![&:]
