Unhappy gas tank issues

whats up ya'll.. I have a 95 ford 250 xlt and im having trouble with my gas tank. Its dual tank and i only use the front tank cuz the rear tank does not work. My problem with the gas tank is when i fill up the front tank for some reason it goes to the back tank and holds it like a reserve tank but when i switch tanks it says its empty n turns off truck. What is the best solution for me. Please help i do not want to sell the truck because of this issue. Have major plans for it. Please help. Will put up pictures before and after. Thank u

Like the guy said, there is good news and bad news, You don't have to sell the truck , but you do have to change the fuel pump in that rear tank. That will correct 2 problems , the transferring the return fuel to the wrong tank and you will be able to use the rear tank with the new fuel pump in it. There is a shuttle valve in each pump that directs the return fuel and the valve is stuck in the rear pump and the pump has to be replaced.

you know what i would do ? i would do away with the back tank ! take it off and run off the front tank ! if the tank is not there then the gas has to stay in the front tank !

I suppose that is one solution as long as you get the fuel lines routed correctly.

your better off replacing the pump in the rear tank and might replace the selector valve while your at it you might want to look and make sure that you don't have any loose connections
