Default Hello from a NEWBIE

Hi Gals & Guys:

My handle ImAfossil is a short version of I AM A FOSSIL or 'what happened to the good old days'-----Being really, really old, I remember those days.

Back on topic----We (wife & I) just bought a 2003 F350, without the dual wheels (picture attached). My safety Tech said 'for what you paid, this Ford will get the job done'. He encouraged me to go for it.

Basically the F350 will be used to pull our RV for the next 3 years. Loaded weight of the RV will come in around 7500 lbs.

Now when it comes to being technical, if you hit me with skidney rods and / or muffler bearings, I will be dead in the water. Now retired and in my former life an Accountant. My skills in automotive ; slim to non-existent. On top of that, we border on being really poor ($$$$$). I think everboby is basically hanging on, but we enjoy the Game Of Life.

My first question (please don't laugh) "How can I improve my Interstate Gas Mileage, while towing" ????? I have the V10 gas burner. Also, we set aside a few bucks for contingencies, like this one. I will have other questions after we try to clear this hurdle.

I look forward to hearing from the Forum Members,

Thanks, Fossil

Default Thanks

Thanks forr the welcome.

The F350 looks really nice, runs good and Hanky it's got 81K.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a huge 250. One thing I noticed with the truck it does not wander (steering) very much.

I drove other 350s and it seemed that I was constantly correcting to keep it tracking right.
