Help with key / Ignition issue 2008 Ford Escape XLT 2.3 4cylinder FWD
hey ya’ll
i have a 2008 Escape and the key is starting to have issues turning / engaging the ignition switch. What part do I need to swap to fix this issue I am afraid that it will stop working any day now and leave me stranded. Please let me know if I can use the orig keys also or will they n Ed replacement also. Aprox 165,000 miles on escape

If key or lock tumbler is worn , just ign key tumbler can be replaced, but now need to carry new key in addition to door key..
Another option is to have locksmith alter new tumbler to fit original keys..
If your vehicle has anti-theft system new uncoded key will not permit vehicle to start..
A locksmith may be your best choice if you don't want a dealer to do the job.
