Exclamation Overheating?????

I have a taurus 2002.It started overheating.I have removed the thermostat (took it completely off), installed a brand new waterpump, and had the radiator checked out. None of these have resolved the issue. The fans are working properly. None of the hoses swell up during the overheating.

Seems to overheat faster if I am not moving (in a drivethru line). The car overheats after about 20 minutes of driving and then at least 1 1/2 gallons water/coolant spills. I hear a knocking sound (sounds like it is near my dashboard region).

I turn on the heater to cool off the engine but although the air is not always blowing hot. I notice that when I slow down to 15-20 mph the air becomes super hot. When I speed up the air starts blowing regular air. I think that the water is not circulating all the time.

Someone told me to replace the reserve water tank. Do you have any suggestions? I would truely appreciate your help.

Miriam: etiquette would suggest you start your own thread rather than hi-jacking an existing one.

My suggestion: have it checked for a blown head gasket.
