Soooo.. in Jan. this year. I got into an Escape with a tow package because I wanted to tow a travel trailer. Now, I am looking for trailers and find out that 3500 lbs wont tow much.. okay..So I try to trade into an F150 which will tow 5500 lbs. It is only a 2K difference in the deal but Ford Credit will not do it without a $6,500 down payment. So I start looking for small trailers only to find out that my ESCAPE does not have the wiring for a travel trailer. It would cost about $2K in wiring for a 7 point plug to legally tow a travel trailer. Otherwise, I am stuck at legally towing 1,500 lbs. Which is what the trade in car could tow.. How screwed am I? Please give me advise if there is any to be had. I figure my options are to give the car back and walk away or go to the media... ? Any other suggestions? thanks,
