Master Cylinder Noise

Default Master Cylinder Noise

1999 Taurus wagon with 89300 miles started making noise when applying brake pedal.
This noise is coming from master cylinder. It is working find just making noise.
Have had checked and car has dis all around and ant-lock brakes and relined 12000 miles ago
Hope some one has answer Ford dealer said live with or have new master clylinder.

What kinda of noise? Is it a hissing sound? maybe the booster is bad?

Booster isn't bad as noted dealer checked brake system and every thing is o.k.
Master cylinder making noise the fix is replacing rod and o-rings causing the noise.
This as occured on some Taurus's.
