Need help id'ing a hood ornament

Can anyone help me identify the make and model of this hood ornament? The serial on the bottom is d8kb16850ab? Many thanks

It is from a Mercury Zephyr. Not sure of the year though. Guess mid 80's

Could be possibly from a 1988 or 1978.
