New Guy to Ford and Diesel
Hi,
I am new to the the Ford Family, I have always owned GMC/Chevy and Toyota Trucks. I purchased my F250 2008 Crew Cab in July and love the Truck. I am though concerned about the gas miliage, I have spoken to three Service Dealer now and they have advised me that what I am getting is as good as it get. I currently have a 25' Weekend Warior Trailer and get 7 to 7.9 MPG when towing consistantly. When not pulling I get 12 to 12.5. Not sure what I am duing wrong with this new truck,My Brother, Three Cusins and Uncle all have older Deisel Fords and average 12 to 15 MPG pulling and 15 to 20 empty. If anyone could help me with some suggestions of how to at least get 200 miles on a tank of gas it would be much appriciated. I traded my 2002 Suburban in for this Truck and was getting 10 to 12 MPG towing and 18 to 20 empty with a gas engine. I was sold on the fact that a Deisel engine would give me more power and better fuel econo[&:]
my than my old Sub. So far this is far from the truth.

Welcome aboard..
I would bet that with ULSD use, and the upcomming tighter regulation for sulfur content, particulate filters that require extra fuel to burn off the waste, your going to see all the diesel MPG's fall off 'to a degree' for all manufactures..
