Hello. I'm new to the area and heard we're supposed to pop in here and spout a Hello or two. So there ya go.
I've always loved fords, hated Chevys, and was indifferent about Dodge (unless you talk about the Cummins Turbo Diesel, which is a HOSS!!).
I've owned very few vehicles in the 16 years I've been driving and those would be: 1975 K5 Blazer (died. sold for parts), 1979 Ford F150 Highboy (quit running; sold for parts), 1978 F150 Highboy (sold because of fuel mileage: 5 MPG!), 1993 F150 ext. cab (sold due to lack of passenger room), 1998 GMC Suburban (sold due to fuel consumption: 8 MPG), and my current 1994 F150 (with a 4.9L inline 6).
As with every vehicle there are quirks and problems (read: they have character ). And one of the best learning techniques of the Shade-Tree Mechanic is problems (and solving them) by word of mouth. So I joined this forum to learn from other's misfortunes and maybe get a little help on my own.

Welcome to the forum!

I agree. A vehicle that makes a problem is an opportunity to learn. You will find help here.

You know, Thinking of "others misfortunes" is a really great way of saying "You know Mark, you're not getting your *** kicked by some screwed up problem, you're learning a great deal."
Now, I wish I could forget some of it.
