Hi there,

My name is Gordon Schofield, I am 48 years old and although I am British I have now lived in North Georgia for the last eight years. I am just about to buy a 2003 Ford Thunderbird and spied this forum and thought it would be agood wayto chat to other Thunderbird owners.

I have a slight concern and maybe I should have this question in the Thunderbird section but this is my intrductory mail so here goes......

The car looked and drove just great but all the time while driving, two warning lights werelit up on the dash. One was 'ABS' and the other was a 'circle symbol with a line coming off it'. I was so stupid because I got so into the negotiating back at the dealership that I forgot to mention these two warning lights.

I was hoping that one of you guys/ladies could help me and explain what these lights mean. Does the ABS mean there is a problem with the brakes? As for the circle with the line - I have no idea.

Since this is a new member post, generally asking a specific question along with an introduction is fine.. At least by me But also, sometimes posting to the specific Model forum will generatemore of anexposure since the request is model/owner specific..

The circle with the line coming (if the circle has a series of inboard lines/dots?) is for Traction Control being active.. ABS lamp illuminated indicates the ABS has a fault, and/or has been disable.. Although normal braking is still available..
