new member with a question
Sirs,
This past summer I learned that the anti-theft device on my Mercury Mariner will keep the ignition from working if the battery is about to die. Was told the only why to correct the problem was to take it to an authorized dealer(which I did). Replaced the battery and all is well.
A problem has developed now with the lift gate window. SOMETIMES when I walk past the vehicle with the keys in my hand and making sure I'm not pressing any buttons on the key the latch for the glass will release. It can also happen while driving down the road. I sure the obvious is to take it for service, but does anyone have any idea about this? I will also add that since we bought the SUV in August of '10 the only way to open that window was with twice pressing the key button. The switch/button on the vehicle hasn't worked. Could it be that the "rest of it" has finally gone haywire.
