Default Opinion about super duty's

Hello to every one, already read some good stories and love this forum.Today I went to a good friend's birthday, he is my vehicles mechanic, some one who works for him and is a Ford certified told me some dissapointing stories about my truck, 2006 Super duty 6.0L turbo diesel, mentioned a bunch of bad items that if they're not bad, will eventualy do in the future, I've got 63k miles, starts and runs good, pulls a 6000lbs boat like nothing, once or twice per month, everything is original on my truck, no cold air intake, no traight pipe, no tunners, etc. this truck's all stock, still he said will eventually have egr overheating and white smoke, oil cooler overheats and oil can move over to the cooling syst. of the engine, the cylinder head bolts stretch overotime and blows the head gasket, said big $$$ money to fix. His comments worry me alot, my brother said don't anticipate any problem if they don't exist, in other words, wait till it blows up?, I'm not that tipe of guy, i keep good maintenance records on all my vehicles, love my truck and would hate to see it broke down that way knowing that somebody told me and I didn't do anything to prevent it,,,, any comments are welcome or if anyone knows of any healthy fixes I can do to this engine so it becomes "trouble free"
Thanks in advanced
Nelson

Hello evryone who's read my consern about my truck. I was told by a friend who's dad has an 05 6.0L and said he took it to a muffler shop and had them install a 4" pipe down from the turbo all the way back, no catalitic converter, with a magnaflow muffler and tip. Said that eliminating the catalitic converter and increasing pipe size helps lower the heat created by the turbo and egr. I'll be looking for quotes next week, but if anyone knows this works and it's all true, please let me know. thanks

The family of 6.0's since 03 did/does have some issues. All high tec diesels do. They left off a few worries too

My 05 250 has 125K pushing out almost 400hp since just out of breakin and has been flawless to date. No other mods other than the tune and an EGT pre turbo to watch exhaust temps . Sure,, the possibilities are there, more so when adding/building power, (a lot of failures can be pinned to HP increases) but what your doing by monitoring fluids, regular service intevals, and a 'watchful concern' are just extra insurance. Cooling system levels checked regularly (any coolant pushed out of the degass bottle or level drop) may help as a indicator. Also, scheduled coolant flush to help cooler flow..

Pipe size increase with/without the converter will increase the cabin noise and exhaust drone. Some like the changes, some don't. And always the argument that some back pressure speeds turbo spool up times over a free flow system.. Then for us here in CA, emission regulations..

I tow heavy 13-14K (stock profile), to normal or moderate loads 6-8k regularly.

I don't have any issues with pipes, intakes to make'm breath better. Although I've never witnessed alarming temps even with loading, and running power ads..
